Against The Odds strives to garner funding for lung cancer patients in regions of poor sanitation across the world while raising awareness about the importance of public health, specifically regarding air pollution and the effects of smoking.
We are a group of high school students who wish to positively contribute to society in a manner that reflects our own personal experiences. Living in New Jersey and traveling across the world, we took notice of the varying air qualities in different regions and how they contributed to the rate of respiratory ailments in that area. We understand the plight faced by many due to poor sanitation, especially due to air pollution. Our team has created this organization to help those who are already suffering the consequences of poor sanitation and to promote the engagement of the next generation in the field of public health.

I am a senior at the Middlesex County Academy for Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences. As an aspiring physician, I believe it is our duty as the next generation to ensure our nation's wellbeing is far greater than that of the preceding era. Health is a global concern and it should be treated that way. In hopes of making others realize this, we have created Against The Odds in order to give people access to the things we take for granted.
